This is my comments for a post by Mr. Akash Reddy on G+ ( https://plus.google.com/+DWARAKANATHREDDYK/posts/5BqE2teKjJj). I thank him for this opportunity. If I hadn't seen that beautiful pic (reproduced below), I wouldn't have written this:
Simply worshipping an idol will make you an idiot/moron/bigot/terrorist/etc.,
Instead, worship the TRUTH the idol portrays. That is, contemplate on the TRUTH the idol portrays. Thank the brilliant sage(s) who gave us the Grand Truths in simple forms.
The Thamizh word "கும்பிடுதல்" is a short form of "கும்பகம் இடுதல்"! That is, restrain or hold back your breath. When you do this, your mind falls back into its source, which is God/Bhagavaan/Lord's Feet/etc., for a second. Whether you know what you are searching for or not, you attain The Lord's Feet for a moment!! Once the restrained breath is released, mind springs back to its ways. If you keep doing this properly, when the time comes, your mind merges with the Lord once for all and dies. That is Release (Mukthi)/Samaadhi/Realization/Salvation/etc.,
For example, this "Butter stealing Balakrishna" idol tells us the following:
🌸 His color is blue. It represents Maya (that which is not). Sky appears to be blue because of refraction. In reality, there is no sky. Likewise, this life/world/universe is only for appearance. Not real. But, the Lord & His universe are inseparable just like milk & it's white color are inseparable.
🌼 The Navaneetham (butter) in his hand represents Jnaanam (correct knowledge). For a newbie, it would look like Krishnaa is giving. But, we know He is stealing! ☺ Both are correct. He is both the giver and the stealer of Jnaanam!! How does He steal? Through His Maya - sensory perceptions & mind. Why does He steal? Can He really steal? Can "that which is not" be stolen? 😉 That's why it's called Leelai (play)! Not Stealing!!
If you realize all these, you will realize that your life is a Leelai of God! You will stop meddling with it. You will enjoy it. You will JUST BE!! 😍
Now, how can you make a devotee remember all these instantly without a visible media? Try other senses. 😏 You won't succeed. No other sense will have this instant effect. 😎 Our elders rock!! 👍 Don't you agree? 😉
But, how many do this kind of worship? 💥 I am sure the percentage would be so small, one can say NONE! 😑 What is more disastrous is those who perform poojai also fall in this NONE category!! 😮 They are supposed to know and let others know when the time is ripe. So many factors, including concealing it for selfish reasons, led to this predicament!!
Again, this is too Lord's Play. He knows when to correct it. Don't you agree? 😉
